Friends of Sebago Lake has started a collection of newspapers articles, letters, and statements by scientists about the many impacts of dams and flow regulation. The collection has a focus on Canadian hydropower, silencing of Canada’s scientists and showcasing the ability of a senior Canadian scientist Dr. Hans Neu to explain the dangers of the mega dam projects on the ocean fisheries and climate change.
Our goals for this collection is for concerned citizens to better understand what scientists in Canada and other parts of the world were stating about hydropower and flow regulation impacts. It is also important to understand why there is a lack of information. One reason is because of government and corporate silencing and prevention of scientific research. We hope this collection of research will promote freedom for scientists to once again study in an unbiased manner the impacts of these dams and flow regulation.
