Collapsing sand banks on the Songo River, approx. one mile above its
mouth at Sebago Lake. The large "clumps" are vegetated soil mats
sliding off the top of the bank and the toe of the slope erodes. FOSL believes
that increased water levels in Sebago in recent years have contributed to
this erosion. Water levels at this location on the Songo River are controlled
by levels in Sebago Lake. Photo taken Nov. 12, 2001. Sebago water level
was 261.8 feet above mean sea level.
